Keeping it Fresh at Work

I had an idea for another post but I just had to comment on something that happened at work today. Today was a pretty boring day like most days have been with the new position, but around 11:00 am something interesting happened. This woman walked past me. She wasn’t particularly my type, actually she was pretty old; I did not think she was all the sexy or even cute for that matter, but for some reason I was enamored with her. At this point you may be wondering why. It was her outfit.

This lady’s outfit was amazing. And no, it wasnt a crazy short skirt, or even a business suit, I actually have a friend who thinks nothing is sexier then a woman in a business suit. It was a rather preppy outfit. She had on a wispy dress (if that is even a dress description), with a cardigan over the dress, a matching head band, and shoes that matched the headband. I spent about an hour trying to figure out why I could not get this woman’s outfit out of my mind and it hit me, It was the colors.

This woman matched up a white cardigan with a pink and green plaid dress, hell there might have even been some purple in there. This lady’s outfit was the first colorful thing I had seen all day in a office that is plagued by greyish tan walls, grey carpet, artificial light and people that refuse to open their blinds and let the sun shine through. As I have said before when people work in these environments too long the eventually begin to look like the walls that enclose them and the floors that they walk on, lifeless. This lady did not let that happen to her and she definitely gets the thumbs up for maintaining her essence into her later years.

Man, what does this say when the highlight of my day at work is recognizing some old chics outfit for its freshness. Whats even crazier is that she was killing it more then damn near all the younger chics in the office. So try to keep it fresh at work, even on those days when you don’t feel like it, you will feel better about yourself, and you might brighten up somebody else’s day up in the process.
