I think you got all of the reasons why people become lifers. I would probably add helplessness to the list. Some people feel because they didn't get an education or feel as though they are not qualified to do anything else, they have to get in somewhere and stay there. Although I think entrepreneurship is the way to go, I agree being a Lifer is not bad as long as you don't want to be anything else. That Kool-Aid example is a classic!! Great post.
