I work for a very large bank that will be a megabank once the merger is complete and I can honestly say that the environment actually inhibits the desire to pursue your own venture. They don't outright say it, but most big companies carry the attitude of "we all have to have a job so you might as well help this company get rich until its time for you to retire. Or until we don't need you anymore, which ever comes first." Its also difficult to find like minded people with an entrepreneurial mindset.-a real entrepreneurial mindset not just a "it would be nice to be my own boss" midset-in a large company.
